Overview and Rationale
International Friendships Inc. (IFI) proposes a multimedia storytelling initiative—“Journeys of Faith: International Voices”—to illuminate the transformative power of Christian faith among international students in the United States. Through written narratives, video testimonials, podcasts, and interactive digital platforms, IFI will share how personal encounters with Christian community and hospitality have shaped the faith journeys of students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
By focusing on global perspectives, “Journeys of Faith” underscores the vibrancy and hope of Christian faith. This aligns directly with Lilly Endowment’s goal of inspiring individuals from all walks of life to come to know and love God.
Grant Opportunity Summary
Two-Stage Process
- Concept Papers:
- Due February 24, 2025.
- All eligible organizations submit a brief (no more than five pages) concept paper.
- Planning Grants:
- Up to 30 organizations will receive planning grants (up to \$50,000 each).
- Grant period intended for concept refinement, deeper research, and preparation of a full implementation proposal.
- Implementation Grants:
- Organizations awarded planning grants may apply for implementation grants of up to \$5 million each, to be used over up to five years.

- Concept Paper Submission: February 24, 2025
- Planning Grant Awards Announcement: Spring 2025
- Implementation Grant Proposal Deadline: August 15, 2025
- Implementation Grant Awards Announcement: December 2025
- Project Start (If Awarded): October 2025 (or upon official award notification)
Note: The Implementation Grant awards are anticipated to be announced in December 2025, as per Lilly Endowment guidelines. If awarded, IFI will launch the full initiative immediately thereafter.

- 501(c)(3) Status: IFI is a registered public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
